This newly built, architecturally designed hotel taps into Burleigh’s local magnetism while adding a glitzy layer of global appeal from a key player in the lifestyle hotel space.
The brand, originally conceptualised by hotelier extraordinaire Ian Schrager with the opening of the famed Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, has gone on to open in similarly glamorous locations across the world, including Cannes, Ibiza, Mexico City, and now the sandy shores of Burleigh Heads. Upon entry, a portico splices together archways, stucco walls and steel accents, with a petite check-in space that encourages you through to the hotel’s outdoor area. Teal striped sun lounges flank the marble pool, joined by cream umbrellas and a cedar DJ booth, with views out to Burleigh’s Norfolk pines and the stretching beach. It’s elevated and chic, but don’t miss the chance to lean into the Gold Coast vibe; during our stay, we spot an amusing incident with a stretch hummer in the parking bay and a big-name influencer pitching a skincare line at lunch, which definitely adds to the atmosphere.

The Rooms
Each spacious room is washed in neutral grey, creating an ideal contrast for the main attraction: the million-dollar views of the Pacific Ocean, Burleigh Headland or the hinterland framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. A small balcony allows you to take it all in, even from the plump king bed, thanks to automatic blinds. A jungle-print sofa and rust bouclé accents bring the fun, Le Labo Santal 33 amenities deliver chic indulgence, and the in-room beach bag and long linen robe are ideal for taking poolside. Opt for a suite, and the added kitchenette and laundry will guarantee a more flexible stay.

Food & Drink
Seafood grill Haven is sprawling but still feels intimate, offering a spiffy showcase of Queensland’s fruits de mer. While there are a few solo diners and couples, most of the tables are filled with lively locals getting in on a slice of the action. A flame-kissed red emperor fillet from Cairns comes with a citrus-charged hollandaise; while hand-picked spanner crab from nearby Brunswick Heads is seasoned with capers, dill and crème fraîche, ready to be spread across the accompanying waffle. There are also lofty seafood towers, an impressive lobster frites and fresh oysters to boot. Downstairs at Lito the restaurant spills out onto the pavement, with locals and their French bulldogs grabbing iced lattes, while hotel guests pop in for a two-course breakfast. The cavernous space is bustling from day-to-night, transitioning to an easygoing Italian restaurant for lunch and dinner.
