Family-owned Western Australia hospitality operator Prendiville Group has announced a major makeover of Darwin hotel The Leea, adding an expansive poolside space with dining and lounging areas, including a shaded pool deck, all-day café and bar.
Launching in August, The Leea Poolside, Garden and Common will be a social precinct unlike anything else in the Territory’s capital, welcoming hotel guests and local visitors and offering exclusive-to-Darwin wines, cocktails and Top End produce on menus led by group director of food Russell Blaikie (Must Winebar) at the venue that sits between The Gardens and Darwin’s Waterfront precinct.
Known for their work across leading hospitality and lifestyle venues, Brisbane interiors agency Collectivus has devised a contemporary aesthetic tailored to Darwin’s tropical climate. They’re working across The Leea Poolside, Garden and Common as well as the property’s 168 hotel rooms, with the ongoing transformation of The Leea will continue over the coming 18 months.

“This is the beginning of a new chapter for The Leea and, we believe, a new chapter for hospitality in Darwin,” said Prendiville Group Regional CEO Garrett Prendiville. “Darwin already has an electric sense of energy and personality. Our vision is to create a vibrant social hub that complements that spirit while bringing a level of design detail and food and beverage experience that feels fresh for the city.”
Prendiville Group operates popular destination restaurants and accommodation in Western Australia including The Cottesloe Beach Hotel, recently reviewed restaurant Tigerfish and Samphire Rottnest on Rottnest Island, as well as properties in Broome and Townsville.
