Beyond showbags, thrilling rides and wood chop competitions, the Sydney Royal Easter Show continues to represents its roots as a showcase and celebration of New South Wales and Australian agriculture and primary production with the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW competitions. While some products are harder to get your hands on, these are Gourmet Traveller’s picks for award-winning dairy, wine, meat and olive oil you can purchase and cook with at home.

Buffalo cream butter by Del Bocia

Alberto Borghi’s brand of premium, uncultured butter made with top-quality Australian dairy, Del Bocia, took home the Sydney Royal Cheese & Dairy Produce Show award for Champion Sheep, Goat, Buffalo or Camel Milk Product for its 100% grass-fed buffalo cream butter. Stir through pasta with parmigiano reggiano and plenty of pepper for a simple but indulgent sauce, or use like normal butter in applications that warrant extra richness (he even suggests topping with caviar).

Swift 2016 Methode Traditionelle by Printhie Wines

After the ‘16 took home Best Sparkling at the Sydney Royal Wine Show and Best Sparkling in the NSW Wine Awards in 2025, this year it also claimed the Wine award of the District Exhibits arm of the Sydney Royal Easter Show for the Western District. A textbook cool-climate sparkling from the Orange region in Printhie’s esteemed range of Swift sparkling wines, it’s a typical Champagne-style blend of chardonnay and pinot noir that spent eight years on lees for a balanced richness.

Stockyard Black wagyu by Stockyard Beef

Stockyard Black is a long-fed, 100% wagyu product from Queensland producer Stockyard is a finalist for the prestigious President’s Medal, which will be awarded in May — you’ve probably seen their beef on the menu at some of the country’s best restaurants. The highest honour awarded by the Royal Agricultural Society, the President’s Medal goes beyond just taste or presentation, selecting a winner based on innovation, responsibility, and a long-term vision for Australian agriculture and food production. Other finalists in 2026 include Brokenwood Wines, Mandolé Orchard, Marionette liqueurs and the Norco co-op of dairies.

Honey yoghurt by Kenilworth Dairies

You might recognise Kenilworth Dairies’ products from a supermarket shelf near you; their products are popular, and for good reason, taking home plenty of medals at the Sydney Royal Easter Show including Champion Yoghurt or Cultured Milk Product for their honey yoghurt, with ribbons of local Sunshine Coast gold from Hum Honey. You can visit the dairy in the charming Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Kenilworth — it’s worth it to try their ice-cream alone.

Established at the Sydney Royal Easter Show back in 1900, the District Exhibits competition showcases New South Wales regions with elaborate and artistic displays of produce, with individual category winners selected from what’s on show. Based in Narromine and running a deeply sustainable program of production, the Wilson family claimed the Olive Oil title for the Western District.
